Patrick Mahomes showed off footage of his daughter, Sterling, strutting her stuff with a soccer ball in what could be a look to the future.
The reigning Super Bowl – and regular season – MVP posted an Instagram story of his two-year-old dribbling the ball.
‘Keep going girl, c’mon,’ Mahomes said in the video, as Sterling moved the ball to within inches of the goal line before pushing it across and into the net with her hands.
‘Good job,’ he added, laughingly. His wife, Brittany, uploaded a similar video to her Instagram page. She says, ‘Go score a goal’ and Sterling does exactly that.
Mrs. Mahomes was a soccer star at the University of Texas at Tyler, and currently holds school records for most goals in a single season and points accrued in a campaign.
Patrick is a part owner, announcing the move at the turn of the year, joining his wife at the franchise.
‘I am thankful for the chance to join @brittanylynne as part of the @thekccurrent ownership team,’ he wrote on Twitter at the time.
‘She and the Longs (co-owners) have done an incredible job building a world-class organization and I am excited to join another championship-caliber club as it continues to make history.
‘We are so thrilled to make this a family affair and have Patrick join as an owner,’ Brittany said in an official statement from the club in January.
Mahomes had already invested in Kansas City’s two other sports teams: Sporting KC and the Royals.
