Kansas City Chiefs head coach Andy Reid has shared his thoughts on L’Jarius Sneed leaving the franchise, describing him as ‘one of my all-time favorite guys’.
The cornerback has been traded to the Tennessee Titans during the off-season and will no longer be a part of the Super Bowl-defending Chiefs.
Sneed was a crucial part of the campaign last season that ended with the Chiefs winning the Super Bowl against the San Francisco 49ers in Las Vegas.
The salary cap has been given as the primary reason for Sneed and the Chiefs parting ways.
Sneed has now been traded to the Titans for a 2025 third-round draft pick and a swap of 2024 seventh-round selection. Sneed is expected to receive a new contract in Tennessee.
Reid’s thoughts on Sneed
Reid has spoken to Paul Kuharsky at the annual league meeting about the 27-year-old Sneed, a player he clearly had a lot of time for.
“[He is] one of my all-time favourite guys,” Reid said. “Great human being. As great a player as he is, he’s an even better human being. As tough as you can imagine. I’m his biggest fan.
“He was our lockdown guy. Every best receiver, he had the best receiver.”
