Angelina Jolie knows that if it isn’t broke, don’t fix it.
At least, that’s how things seemed when she stepped out in a classic little black dress while grabbing dinner with her son, Pax Thien Jolie-Pitt, on July 12.
The actress added a summer-ready twist to the closet staple by opting for a knee-length, sleeveless silhouette complete with a breezy leg slit, and she accessorized with a black handbag, tinted sunglasses, and matching black heels.
While Jolie may be the latest celebrity to prove that a black dress will never go out of style, she’s certainly not the first. In fact, Joanna Gaines recently wore a similar LBD during an appearance on the Today Show back in May.
And although her dress had similar details to Jolie’s — like a midi length, breathable leg slit, and sleek overall look — the actress’ shorter, sleeveless option is great for beating the sweltering mid-summer heat.
We rounded up black dresses inspired by Jolie’s look, and prices start at $32.
