Broze My Son his going to Take My Place in Kansan City Chieft Says By Patrick Mahomes

even though Patrick Mahomes will likely still play injured during the Super Bowl next Sunday, he is by no means missing the biggest game of the season for him. His father, former MLB pitcher Pat Mahomes spoke to Fox News about the historic moment his son is going through. Alongside Eagles’ quarterback Jalen Hurts, both QBs are part of the first Super Bowl with two Black starting quarterbacks. It has never happened before and Pat Mahomes is thrilled his son will be part of a historic moment in the NFL.

He said: “It’s historic. It’s special. I couldn’t be any more prouder to see where the game has come from where it was. I’m a big football fan, always have been. And I remember Doug Williams when he won the Super Bowl. I remember some of the other Black quarterbacks – Randall Cunningham, Donovan McNabb and all those guys – and just how hard it was to be able to get a chance to play their position. And for Patrick and Jalen to be a part of the first two to play in a Super Bowl just shows how far we’ve come. And I’m just so happy a Mahomes will be one of them. And it just makes me so proud.”

What about Patrick Mahomes’ ankle?

During the Playoff game against the Jacksonville Jaguars, Patrick Mahomes picked up a nasty ankle injury that forced him to play the rest of the game like that. Although he had time to recover for the Conference Final against the Cincinatti Bengals, it was evident he wasn’t at 100%. Leading up to the Super Bowl, Patrick Mahomes has been recovering but his father just confirmed he is still not fully recovered. Regardless of the ankle, Pat Mahomes knows nobody can prevent his son from playing the big game and he trusts it will make him push harder to succeed.

Here’s what he said about the ankle: “I just know how he is, his competitive nature. I knew that once people started saying that he wasn’t going to be able to do this and do that, that he was going to go out there and grind and make sure that he was as prepared as he could be and go out there and try to prove some people wrong. He has no choice. It’s like he’s said in a couple of interviews: If you can’t get fired up and ready to play in this game, then you’re playing the wrong sport. He’s a competitor and I know what he’s made of and what he wants to do
