Royal historian Robert Lacey says King Charles does face a “problem” as he has for decades envisaged a “slimmed-down” monarchy, but his idea always was that he would have his “two loyal lieutenants” in Prince William and Prince Harry beside him.
“And we’ve seen that in fact, that’s not going to be the case,” Mr Lacey told Sky News Australia.
“That will be the challenge for Charles in the future.”
Mr Lacey spoke to Sky News Australia as part of a special report ahead of King Charles III’s upcoming coronation.
