Reddit co-founder Alexis Ohanian is known for setting high standards for husbands and fathers with his social media posts. While Ohanian has confessed multiple times that he really enjoys being married to the gorgeous WTA legend Serena Williams and fathering their 5-year-old daughter- Olympia, Alexis did not master being a dad in one go. As he confesses, he believes in a constant reminder to improve himself every day. In his journey as a dad, Ohanian has also received words of wisdom from great men including former US President Barack Obama. Talking to E-news, Ohanian recently spilled the beans on this golden advice.
Obama’s personal advice to Ohanian sheds light on the importance of setting a positive example for young girls and how fathers can play a pivotal role in shaping their daughters’ expectations in relationships. Being a father is a full-time job and Alexis has really ‘understood the assignment’, it seems. From his relationship with his wife and daughter, it is evident that he has indeed taken Obama’s advice to the heart, and is working on it.

Beyond his role as a successful entrepreneur and husband to one of the greatest athletes of all time, Ohanian loves his job as a father to Olympia. In an interview with E-News, he talks about how it feels to have a child with Serena, “Obviously, having a child with her is a cheat code, because you really understand the opportunity you have to speak all of that into someone who you want nothing more than the best for.”
He also revealed the dad-vice he received from none other than Barack Obama during a conversation about fatherhood. “The man you are to your wife is the man that your daughter is going to see and come to expect,” Ohanian quoted Obama as saying. “So, remember every time you’re with your wife, you are role-modeling that behavior not just for your daughter but for whoever she’s going to get to know in her later life.”
