Iga Swiatek admitted this year’s French Open was the time she felt “the most pressure” at Roland Garros as the Pole acknowledged there is a lot of stress with being the top-ranked player in the game. Going into the French Open, Swiatek was considered the No 1 favorite to lift the title.
Also, Swiatek was returning to the French Open as the defending champion. In the end, 22-year-old Swiatek was able to defend her French Open crown and lift her third title at Roland Garros. “Playing as a World No.1, it is stressful, especially when you’re kind of facing all these questions basically every two days in the conference room.
Sometimes it would be like easier to just go and play tennis and play your game, but you have to face all the other stuff and it’s part of the job,” Swiatek told WTA Insider.
