Jason Kelce in the WWE? Wrestling star offers to train him ahead of WrestleMania

The Rock is already coming to WrestleMania in Philly, and Meek Mill is, too.

Could another Philly legend be at the big show?

Well, the WWE certainly has a history of one-offs with big names from the sports world, and there seems to be growing buzz about the possibility of recently retired Eagles center Jason Kelce somehow taking part.

This seems to have been born out of a recent TMZ interview with WWE star, The Miz, and by the fact that Kelce’s mom was at the WWE Performance Center in January and took a photo with Shawn Michaels.

So what did The Miz have to say?

Well, he said he has played golf with Travis Kelce, and asked him then when he was coming to the WWE. That led him to Jason.

Jason, I’ve never met him, but those are Cleveland guys, and that guy, he’s played for Philadelphia, it seems like a home run to me,” the wrestler reportedly said. “But who knows? He’s retired. He might just want to relax and chill out. Or he’d like to come to Philadelphia for WrestleMania.”

And should Kelce want to lace up the boots at any point, The Miz has offered to train him.

“Hell yeah, I’d train him into a superstar,” he said. “As big of a superstar as he is in the NFL, we’ll make him as big of a superstar in the WWE. He could be very dangerous in a WWE ring. Not only with juts the athleticism and the part of wrestling which I think he can absolutely do, I watched him jump up at a Bills game from like down and jump up into a window, and I was like ‘Oh my God, this guy’s 300 pounds. How did he do that? That’s incredible.’

The Miz said Kelce has the charism to be successful, too.

“The ability to talk on a microphone and be captivating and innovative is just something I think he has a knack for,” he said.

Again, WWE has a way of making things like this happen, particularly for WrestleMania so it wouldn’t be a surprise to see Jason and probably Travis, too, at the show. It would be a surprise, though, to see Kelce become a regular with the company. But that would be, for most folks from Philly at least, welcomed.

WrestleMania is slated for Saturday, April 6 and Sunday, April 7 at Lincoln Financial Field.
