Jason Kelce recalls ditching wife Kylie during shark attack, reveals reason for shouting match

Philadelphia Eagles center Jason Kelce recalled during the most recent episode of the “New Heights” podcast how he once ditched his wife Kylie in the middle of the ocean as a man was getting attacked by a shark. The NFL star also revealed the reason for shouting at Dallas Cowboys linebacker Damone Clark.

Kelce, 36, was telling his brother Travis, who wants to travel to space, that he has a hard time even going in the ocean due to the 1975 film “Jaws.” The Eagles center then went on to recall when Kylie convinced him to paddleboard in Maui only for his biggest fear to come true.

He and the Kelce family were in Maui in 2016 prior to heading to Hawaii for the NFL Pro Bowl featuring Travis when the incident occurred. The 2018 Super Bowl winner claimed the man’s paddleboard had a “full-on bite print.”Jason explained how he was having a hard time staying on the board while being 50 to 75 yards away from the shore, but when the shark attack happened, nothing could stop him from paddling.

“I high-tailed in reverse,” Jason said. “I don’t ask questions. I’m not asking questions. This motherf—er just yelled ‘Shark!’ I am headed inland! Kylie is like, ‘Where are you going, J? I didn’t even say a word. I just kept going straight. I was in full panic mode.

Jason admitted Kylie wasn’t happy with him and Travis said the least he could do was relay the “shark” message to her while paddling away. All parties reached the shore safely, including the man whose board got bit.

The Eagles veteran also set the record straight about the viral screaming incident from Sunday’s win over the Cowboys.
