Unlike his ex-girlfriend, we’ve barely seen hide or hair of Joe Alwyn since his breakup from Taylor Swift in April. Until now, that is.The British actor poked his head above ground for the first time in six months to attend the GQ Men of the Year Awards in London on November 15. It appears that Alwyn’s post-Swift era is also his leather era. We’re here for it, mate.
Alwyn’s look put a twist on the classic black suit, swapping the traditional blazer with a buttoned leather version, which he wore over a white shirt and a black tie. To accessorize, Alwyn added a little facial scruff, a silver bracelet, and pointed-toe black boots.
While Swift has been patronizing all of the New York City hot spots, Eras Tour–ing, dating Travis Kelce, and writing Alwyn out of the lyrics to “Karma,” he’s been…shooting a short film called A Very Short Film About Longing, per IMDb and, once, posting confusingly vague photos to Instagram. Otherwise, we have no idea, because he hasn’t been seen in public since May.
Throughout his six-year relationship with Swift, Joe Alwyn had always been known as the more private of the two, so perhaps it’s not entirely surprising that he’s been in hiding since the breakup. I wouldn’t expect to hear him say anything about the split in interviews, either. I will, however, be taking a look at that short film
