Controversial British media commentator Piers Morgan has branded Meghan Markle “two-faced” and a liar in a new column written follow her recent legal win.

It’s no secret there is no love lost between the pair following the end of their short-lived ‘friendship’ in 2017, before Meghan began dating Prince Harry.

In the column, published in the Daily Mail, Morgan tells the Duchess of Sussex to put her “gloating champagne away”, labelling her “Princess Pinocchio” in reference to children’s character Pinocchio whose nose would grow when he lied.

“The court of public opinion now knows you’re a fork-tongued devious manipulative piece of work who only wants to protect your privacy so you can sell it,” he writes.

Morgan claims the royal’s “true character” has been exposed during the court battle, arguing that all her recent victory really did was “expose her real character to the world and the cold hard two-faced reality at the heart of Meghan and Harry’s attitude to privacy”.

“As we’ve seen with stunning regularity since they quit Britain supposedly for the quiet life in America, they’re quite happy to cash out their privacy for millions of dollars to the likes of Spotify, Netflix or Oprah Winfrey,” he continues.

He ends the scathing tirade by saying, “Thanks to this court case, we’ve now seen what the real Meghan looks like, fork tongue and all. It’s not a pretty sight.”

Meghan successfully sued Associated Newspapers Limited (ANL), publishers of Mail on Sunday, over the publication of a letter she had sent to her father Thomas Markle Snr in 2018.

ANL appealed the decision but it has been upheld, with the duchess labelling it a “victory not just for me, but for anyone who has ever felt scared to stand up for what’s right”.

Sharing Meghan’s statement on Twitter, Morgan said he would be publishing a “responsive statement from Piers, The Earl of Exposing Princess Pinocchio Bullsh*t, will be published shortly” before sharing a link to his latest article.

And he certainly didn’t disappoint, urging the royal to “stick her celebratory champagne back in the fridge today”.

He referenced Meghan’s apology to the court for misleading them, saying she had forgotten she had briefed an aide to speak with the authors of Finding Freedom, the book she and Prince Harry have denied cooperating with.

One of Morgan’s Twitter followers commented: “I bet if she gave you an interview you would love her just like Ronaldo.”

Another said: “Is this not bullying? It’s fine to not like her but this seems particularly nasty.”

“This is so sad, at some point you are going to have to consider talking to someone who is professionally able to assist with this obsession,” added another.

“It’s either that or someone who is able to exorcise that demon that whispers Megan’s name to you 24 hour a day. So sad and disturbing.”

Although, some commenters praised his work.

“You tell them Piers, it seems every time they are not in the news she has to do something to put herself back in the limelight,” commented one.

“Thanks for having the balls to state what we are all thinking,” said another. “They and their media exposure could destroy the monarchy.”

ANL are reportedly considering appealing to the Supreme Court.
