While Kelsey was generally comfortable dealing with tough questioning from comedians, she was at a loss for words when Sudeikis’ character bluntly asked her: “Travis, tell me the truth, okay? Just the guys here… when are you going to make her into an honest woman?”
When the crowd cheered at Sudeikis’s intrusive questions, Kelsey seemed annoyed, but he laughed awkwardly once or twice to lighten the mood.
But Sudeikis didn’t stop there, adding: “Taylor doesn’t need to work anymore and again, I’m sure your kicker agrees with me, he understands that.”
The latter joke appears to be a reference to his controversial graduation speech. “I think it’s important to be a part of what makes a great person,” Kansas City Chiefs kicker Harrison Butker said last month. In his speech, Butker said that most of the female graduates at the ceremony were “most excited about marriage and the children that they’re going to bring into the world” rather than about their careers.

“You guys are really trying too hard,” Kelsey eventually told the Ted Lasso alum and his pals.
While Kelsey didn’t seem too keen on Sudeikis’ marriage questions, she did get a little playful earlier in the segment, especially when Smigel and Wendt joked that the NFL star should ask the “Shake It Off” singer to help pay for the Kansas City Chiefs’ new football stadium. “A couple hundred million dollars isn’t a whole lot of money to Taylor. It’s like four tickets to her concert,” Wendt joked.
“She just got to Kansas City, damn it!” Kelsey replied good-naturedly.
Kelsey has had to deal with intense public interest in her relationship with the pop superstar since going public with it last year. — I also had to comment on this during a press conference for work.
In January, a reporter asked him the question ahead of the 2023 AFC Championship NFL playoff game against the Baltimore Ravens. How the ‘outside noise’ about his relationship affects him and Swift.
“All we talked about is, if we’re happy, we don’t hear any outside noise,” the NFL player said. “That’s all that matters.”
